Mindful Flow Series: Autumn Release

According to Ayurveda, autumn is the season of air and space (vata)—a time of movement, change, and lightness. Just as trees shed their leaves, we’re also invited to release what feels heavy or no longer aligned 🍂 Blending Ayurvedic wisdom with modern therapy tools, this workshop is all about letting go—physically, mentally and emotionally. No prior yoga experience is needed.

What to expect:
🖊️ Meditation & Reflective Journaling on Letting Go – we’ll uncover unhelpful habits, negative self-talk and limiting beliefs, to gently release.

🏺 Aromatherapy Ritual for Grounding – Vata-balancing scents to calm restlessness and anchor energy.

🪷 Yoga Pranayama (breathwork) & Asana (postures) – 30 minutes of restorative poses with long holds, hip and heart openers, and grounding shapes.

🎶 Sound Bath– Himalayan sound healing to support deep release.

Wear comfortable clothes and arrive a few minutes early to settle in. A few mats are available, but feel free to bring your own, as well as a journal and pen. Each participant will be gifted an aromatherapy vial and Ayurvedic tea blend.

This workshop is part of the Mindful Flow Series, weaving together Eastern healing traditions and Western psychotherapy to increase resilience and cultivate ease. In each workshop, you’ll also walk away with a few ideas and mind-body tools to bring into daily life. Facilitated by Nira, Licensed Psychotherapist & Yoga/Meditation Instructor.

Beat Procrastination and Creative Blocks

You know that state of mind where you forget about time and space and become completely focused on whatever you’re working on? That's called the FLOW, and it feels great but can be difficult to achieve consistently on your own. Through the power of mono-tasking, rituals, body doubling, and power breaks, we’ll reach the FLOW together, and you’ll be surprised by what you’ll have gotten done at the end of the day. So how does it work? We’ll have a series of 50-minute bursts of focused, mono-tasking work. Every burst will be separated by quick 10-minute breaks. After 2 bursts, we’ll have a longer break, where we’ll share a meal (remember to bring your own lunch) and socialize before diving into the last two bursts. Switching off notifications, focusing on a single task at a time, being surrounded by people doing the same, and not keeping track of time will help you reach the FLOW. Essentially, getting days' worth of work done in just four hours. Let's get those procrastinated tasks done and beat creative blocks TOGETHER! Here is what our session will look like: 10:30 - 10:45: introduction 10:45 - 11:35: first rush 11:35 - 11:45: short break 11:45 - 12:35: second rush 12:35 - 01:05: lunch break 01:05 - 01:55: third rush 01:55 - 02:05: short break 02:05 - 02:55: last rush 02:55 - 03:10: outro You are welcome to join for just one rush or stay for the whole session; we just ask you to enter or leave the room only during breaks to prevent distraction for the other participants.

🍷 Blind Tasting Night: Trader Joe’s California Wines

Three tiers. One store. All California.

Trader Joe’s has been selling private label wines since the 1970s, but the legend really took off with Charles Shaw in 2002, when “Two-Buck Chuck” became a household name. Since then, they’ve expanded into higher tiers — Platinum and Diamond Reserves sourced from Napa Valley vineyards — giving everyday shoppers access to bottles that often come from wineries charging three or four times the price.

We'll try Charles Shaw, Grower’s Reserve Coastal , Platinum Reserve , and Diamond Reserve labels - BLIND, with a big reveal at the end, giving you a few days to pick a bottle or two to impress your friends and family at Thanksgiving!

Light food will be food - all from Trader Joes! Have a favorite snack??? Bring it!

About Jane!
This series is guided by my training as a certified healing-centered facilitator and my lived experience as a daughter of immigrants, a once long-time underpaid Oakland educator, and someone who has learned to invest, save, and spend in ways that feel both financially abundant and emotionally healing. I’ve been a “lazy investor” for 17 years now and continue to practice healing my own relationship with money. I’d love to support you in doing the same!

Whether or not investing feels aligned for you right now, I believe that having access to this knowledge is an equity issue – and one I am deeply passionate about addressing.

HOLD

Founders Club: Sunday Coffee Chat

"Our Founders Club Sunday Coffee Meetup is focussed on accountability and sharing challenges! All are welcome, from current founders to anyone curious about entrepreneurship! We meet every Sunday to give quick updates on our projects, progress, and struggles, then dive into brainstorming solutions together and general catchups. We like to say it's like a little dose of ‘group startup therapy’ every week!

Come hang out, enjoy free snacks, and support your fellow founders. Feel free to message Vicki Powell with any snack requests :) See you on Sunday!

Board Game Club: Blood on the Clocktower

First Tuesdays Board Game Club features Blood on the Clocktower: an award-winning social deduction game of murder and mystery, lies and logic, deduction and deception for up to fifteen daring players led by a devious storyteller. Each month we have food and drink on hand - but you're always welcome to bring your own - don't rely on us for your dinner. :)

‼️ Blood on the Clocktower can take *three* hours to run, so please don’t make other plans for your evening - your presence will be required for the entirety of the game. Pizza will be provided.
‼️ We encourage players to watch this 10 minute introduction video on the rules ahead of the event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-aZP47Nm9g
‼️ Even more info & play guides: BotC website https://bloodontheclocktower.com

Each player receives either a ‘good’ or ‘evil’ token with their unique character and special ability on it. Good players share information to solve the mystery whilst evil players lie about who they are and what they know. The good team wins if they can piece together their knowledge, trust each other, and vote to execute the demon. The evil team wins if the demon can sow distrust, evade detection, and wipe out the village.

Being dead doesn’t remove you from the game, you can still discuss with fellow players, win (or lose!) with your team, and have one final ‘ghost’ vote to use before the end of the game. Sometimes it’s actually useful to be dead rather than alive!

Intentional networking for female founders

Craving real, in-person community? Join us for an evening of networking, conversation, and conversation with other women entrepreneurs. Feel free to bring an ask or something you’re working through.

Acclaimed by critics, the movie is "absurdly riveting... with the kind of ticking-clock, military-grade suspense the director does so well"[3]. "Brilliantly builds tension... nail-biting stuff"[4].

Join us for this essential cinema event—"scary as hell, but in whatever remains of it, humanity still has a future"[5].

Exchange: Living Genuinely Amidst Life’s Pressures

Join us for a small-group exchange in an atmosphere of listening and shared inquiry informed by the work of philosopher and spiritual teacher G. I. Gurdjieff.

This gathering is for those who feel a deep longing beyond the ordinary, who are willing to live with questions and who wish to attend, listen and share with sincerity.

No prior knowledge is required, just your openness and interest to listen to ourselves and others.

Logistical note: We plan to gather in the back garden.

Crafting Herb Bundles for Purification, Blessing, and Renewal

Across cultures, smoke has served as a bridge between the seen and unseen and a medium of cleansing and blessing. Come together in community to listen to intuition, be guided to the plants that call to you, and weave bundles that reflect your personal intentions.

We’ll share Tulsi tea, a plant of devotion and clarity, to open our hearts and attune to the plants that will guide the evening. As we work with herbs such as cedar, rosemary, lavender, rose, and mugwort, we’ll listen for how each wishes to participate—cleansing the space, blessing our homes, grounding our bodies, or helping us connect with the unseen.

Plant spirit work is the practice of engaging plants as sentient beings and guides. Through this practice, we remember that our lives are interwoven with the living world, and that every act of creation can become a form of communion.

This evening will include grounding meditation, the crafting and blessing of personal herbal bundles, and time for reflection in community. Together we’ll explore what it means to offer beauty back to life, to infuse our daily rituals with intention, and to be prayerful and intentional while weaving our bundles together.

Cost: $20 for non-members

Business Club (Connect + Collab)

Business Club is a monthly networking and peer mentoring opportunity for all professionals and creatives to connect, exchange ideas, and problem solve over their morning cuppa.

The meetings are facilitated by Sophie Davies to ensure everyone has equal time to introduce themselves and ask for what they need.

How it works: After introductions the group breaks out into smaller groups to allow everyone to share “an ask” through peer mentoring with your makeshift advisory board. “Your ask” can be a specific idea that you need feedback on or a challenge you need help with.

This work-related inclusive club is for everyone who understands that while we tend to work individually, we regularly encounter the same work challenges and believe that collectively we are stronger when we support each other and figure things out together.

These gatherings are limited to 20 people, so please commit to staying for the duration of the session.

Book Club: Isabel Allende's Daughter of Fortune

Come hang with us and talk books!

Our November book will be Daughter of Fortune, by local favorite, Isabel Allende.

From acclaimed international bestselling author Isabel Allende comes this dazzling historical novel, a sweeping portrait of an unconventional woman carving her own destiny in an era defined by violence, passion, and adventure. An orphan raised in Valparaiso, Chile, by a Victorian spinster and her rigid brother, young, vivacious Eliza Sommers follows her lover to California during the Gold Rush of 1849 -- a danger-filled quest that will become a momentous journey of transformation. In this rough-and-tumble world of panhandlers and prostitutes, immigrants and aristocrats, Eliza will discover a new life of freedom, independence, and a love greater than any ever dreamed.

Book Club: Perfection and Bottle Factory Outing [two short books!]

For December, we will be reading two short books! Come and talk books with us - you could read one or both - we'd love to have you either way.

Perfection: A scathing, provocative novel about contemporary existence by a rising star in Italian literature.
Anna and Tom, an expat couple, have fashioned a dream life for themselves in Berlin. They are young digital "creatives" exploring the excitements of the city, freelancers without too many constraints, who spend their free time cultivating house plants and their images online. At first, they reasonably deduce that they've turned their passion for aesthetics into a viable, even enviable career, but the years go by, and Anna and Tom grow bored. As their friends move back home or move on, so their own work and sex life—and the life of Berlin itself—begin to lose their luster. An attempt to put their politics into action fizzles in embarrassed self-doubt. Edging closer to forty, they try living as digital nomads only to discover that, wherever they go, "the brand of oat milk in their flat whites was the same."

The Bottle Factory Outing: Short-listed for the Booker Prize and named 'one of the greatest novels of all time' by The Observer , this riveting novel shows Beryl Bainbridge at her darkly comic best. Freda and Brenda spend their days working in an Italian-run wine-bottling factory. A work outing offers promise for Freda and terror from Brenda; passions run high on that chilly day of freedom, and life after the outing never returns to normal. Inspired by author Beryl Bainbridge's own experiences working at a London wine-factory in the 1970s, The Bottle Factory Outing examines issues of friendship and consent, making the novel timelier than ever. Readers will be dazzled by this offbeat, haunting yet hilarious Guardian fiction prize-winning novel.
